The novel is the first book of a fantasy series. It combines rich world-building, a mix of magic, political intrigue, and human stories. The main character of the story is Galen Bray. Bray is a refugee who arrives in the kingdom of Voulhire in search of a new life. The story's scale establishes a vast universe full of mystical regions, ambitious individuals, and deep-rooted strife.

The author has developed an intricate world. It includes the kingdom of Voulhire and its surrounding realms. The area is rich in physical descriptions and social and political structures. There are layers of history, power battles, and the impression that Voulhire is a live, breathing place where magic and industry coexist.

The author creates a fantastic world for the purpose of adventure. The author uses this universe to investigate deeper themes about humanity. It includes the conflict between science, magic, and spirituality. These three elements are depicted as vital to Voulhire's fabric. These serve as symbols for larger issues concerning human civilization. The novel stands out due to its thematic richness.

Galen Bray is another strong point. Galen is a wide-eyed immigrant coming to this advanced realm. His sense of hope for his new existence contrasts with the unpleasant reality he gradually uncovers. His quest for knowledge is outward as he learns about Voulhire and finds his own place in this complex universe. Galen's character development serves as the emotional focus of the plot.

The editing of the book is clean. The writing has been polished in terms of grammar and structure. The layers of storytelling show great promise for future novels in the series. It indicates that this is merely the beginning of a much larger saga.

We Are Voulhire by Matthew Tysz is a bold and thoughtful beginning to a new fantasy series. I have only criticized the book for overdescriptions. This novel serves as an excellent start to a larger, more intricate story. So, after considering everything, I'd like to give the book 5 out of 5 stars.
