In “We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz, readers enter the world of Voulhire, a large and prosperous nation known for its abundance of natural deposits, political machinations, and magic. At first sight, it looks like an opportunity-filled place, an isolated country for success and wealth among the nations. However, behind this mask, Voulhire is a very dangerous place, filled with politics, magic, and fights for power among the ruling elite.

In the beginning chapter of this novel, readers are thrown into the capture and later the execution of Lord Orlin of Hillport, who was a pivotal stakeholder in the kingdom of Voulhire. During all this chaos, Galen Bray comes to the city of Magnum Caelum to take what is rightfully his inheritance, his uncle's steel forge. Soon enough, Galen learns that the kingdom is not as serene as he thought, and a new round of evil awaits. Soon in the story, Galen finds himself amidst a plot of powerful mages and dishonest rulers. It will be for him to meet the challenges that force his wits and dare the perils in order to keep the peace. In this process, the young man, Galen, learns about the negative aspects of magic and the price to pay to sustain order. In the end, the question remains: will Voulhire survive the waves of evil slowly invading the lands of the golden country, or will the golden country succumb to the evil that seeks to claim it?

First, it has to be noted that the series ‘We Are Voulhire’ is quite strong in terms of world-building. The author paints a clear picture that involves wonderful characters and a lot of mystery. The magic system is the most thought out and greatly enhances the overall theme of the tale. The second advantage is that the story develops rapidly and does not leave the reader bored for a single moment. There are many amazing moments, and the whole story is rather thrilling; after each turn, the readers do not know what may happen next. The characters are also good, and every character in the book has his/her contribution to the story.

Moreover, I found nothing to suggest as a flaw; the book was without errors, and the editing was perfect. I will rate it 5/5 stars because of these aforementioned highlights and the absence of a dislike. "We Are Voulhire" is a solid fantasy novel that fans of the genre will enjoy. It offers a richly imagined world, a compelling plot, and well-developed characters. Lastly, I’ll say that this is a promising novel that leaves readers eager for more.
