"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is the beginning of an exciting fantasy series. The story is set in the kingdom of Voulhire, where magic and human struggles come together. The main character, Galen Bray, is an immigrant looking for a fresh start in the city of Magnum Caelum, where he’s inherited his great-uncle’s blacksmith shop. As he tries to start his new life, he gets caught up in the bigger problems facing the kingdom.

A strong wizard named Meldorath, who was once a trusted general, was betrayed and sent away by King Wilhelm, thereby causing the kingdom to be in danger. Now he’s lurking in the shadows, planning his revenge. At the same time, a group of rebels called the Riva Rohavi is causing chaos and fear throughout the kingdom. King Wilhelm is struggling to keep control, balancing his duties as king with his personal challenges.

Another key character is Judge Eldus, who is appointed as the new leader of Hillport, a town in need of revitalization after years of poor leadership. He has to win over the townspeople and help the town thrive again. His story runs alongside Galen’s, as both men work to overcome their pasts and build better futures in a kingdom facing many challenges.

The book is filled with detailed descriptions of the kingdom’s different cities and cultures, making the world of Voulhire feel very real. There are also exciting magical battles, like one where Meldorath makes ships rise out of the ocean. While the book is gripping, some characters, like the king’s son and wife, don’t get much attention, leaving room for more development in future books. I love how Tysz mixes fun, especially through the character Rowan, with strong storytelling to create an interesting start to the book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, especially those who enjoy big, magical worlds and exciting adventures.

There’s absolutely nothing to dislike about the book, as it is a very interesting one. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. The author’s careful attention to detail, the exciting story, and the unforgettable characters make it a must-read for fantasy fans. The book is well edited with absolutely no errors and also a great story. “We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz is a real treasure.
