Alexander Fine (also known as Alex) was an 18-year-old boy. Since he was young, 3 families have rejected him. Found as an orphan and brought up by Ms. Jenkins, named him Alexander after her deceased husband. Loved and treated well by Ms. Jenkins (head administrator of the orphanage), Alex grew up to be a smart-looking and intelligent young man. Believing his only chance of success in life is through education. Alex strived hard and was successful in securing his college life. All his aspirations changed after one night!

Superhighway by Alex Fayman is a sci-fiction book, 1st of its trilogy series. Consisting 248 pages, it is a typical tech book that anyone would enjoy reading. The main theme is sci-fiction and tech with a mix of romance; action and adventure. The plot was all about Alex and his troubles and happy moments.

There were scenarios that I felt a sense of familiarity with; that gave me a feeling of livelihood and reality which I loved and enjoyed. When Alex talk about how he used books to escape the reality of life and seek comfort, I found myself connect with him. It’s quite fascinating to see how Alex enjoyed his countless journeys back and forth through online. His delight was expressed by saying and I quote: my cosmic voyage. Alex saw the world through its people.

At the start of the book, chapter 1 did not support character 2. It reminded me of the way how movies start by giving a suspense and a mystery. After the grand opening, the story sets in about how it all began. The plot reminded me of a movie called Lucy. The story implores on the significant of quick and correct decision-making. How one unfavourable decision could lead to challenging consequences.

The language tone used was simple but standard. The level of vocabulary used is something to be considered. Words like voracious, insinuate and oligarch seems complicated for a standard read. The start was strong leaving a mystery about what the plot is. The end as always was a cliffhanger but without a suspenseful curiosity. This does not create uneasiness and discomfort to a reader (some people don’t like cliffhanger). I found no editorial errors. There were no hindrances while reading. The writing style was good; it was a medium-paced narrative. The story setting is good. The language used was simple making it easy for the reader to understand.

This was the first time that I read a book which involved technology as a key role. Instead of teleportation the author has used electroportation hinting the idea of teleportation. Which is truly innovative and a smart move. A lot reviewers have applauded this book after reading; I can see why. I honestly had a good experience, that I was 100% hooked up. I can give a 4 out of 4 stars it was truly an amazing read!

Interesting! I'm currently reading this book, and while there are certainly some things it does very well, I found myself somewhat disappointed with the character interactions between Alex and...well, just about everyone else.
