Exodus by Jean Hackensmith has to be one of the best science fiction books I've ever read. I have to commend the author for crafting such an unbelievably detailed story. The research it must have taken to get all the details right is incredibly impressive.

The story begins with a neutron star named Ulysses hurtling toward our solar system, threatening to destroy it. Humanity's only hope for survival is to leave Earth before 2028, as that's when Ulysses is expected to annihilate Earth by pulling it apart piece by piece.

The world's greatest minds collaborate to create groundbreaking scientific inventions to enable humanity's escape. These include a metal stronger than titanium, a containment pod for antimatter, and a warp drive capable of achieving incredible speeds in space. But will these advancements be enough? Can the scientists truly save humanity before time runs out? You'll have to read the book to find out!

What I loved most was the incredible level of detail in every scene. The book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Whenever something went wrong, my heart raced. Unlike most apocalyptic movies or shows where the focus skips over the process of leaving the planet, Exodus dives deep into it. The detailed depiction of starship construction, while a bit tedious at first, was fascinating. Jean's ability to simplify complex scientific concepts made it easy to follow and enjoy.

My favourite character was the U.S. President, Rebecca McCann. Her tireless efforts to help every citizen of the United States were truly commendable. I also adored the brothers, Jeff and Garett—their banter brought much-needed lighthearted moments during tense situations. Additionally, the numerous Star Trek references were a pleasant surprise. I haven't watched those movies yet, but this book convinced me to start watching them ASAP!

I give this book a solid five out of five stars because I thoroughly enjoyed it. While there were some typographical errors, they didn't diminish my overall experience. Honestly, I wouldn't change a single thing about the story except to fix those minor typos. It felt like an emotional rollercoaster. For a moment, I even forgot it wasn't real and found myself convinced that a neutron star might actually be heading toward Earth!

I highly recommend Exodus for readers who like science fiction books with exceptional world-building and gripping narratives. Frankly, I think every sci-fi enthusiast will enjoy this book as much as I did.
