For me, it is one thing to find a good book, but another to find a book that pulls you completely into the story. Alex Fayman is the author of Superhighway, a science fiction trilogy that is sure to sweep any fantasy-loving book worm into the thrilling world that makes up the story's plot. I was not sure what to expect when I initially began reading the book, but after just a few chapters I was hooked and found myself frequently at the edge of my seat. Indulging myself into this one was a treat, and I am glad I now have this in my personal collection.
Superhighway is about a young man by the name of Alexander Fine, whose story is one quite intriguing. Alex, a foster child who has yet to learn his whole back-story, finds himself having an ability far beyond one's imagination. Teleportation has been a subject of many sci-fi stories, but Alex's capabilities are much different and more complex. Linked to the history Alex will soon learn about himself, he has a rare ability to travel almost instantaneously from one place to another through the internet. Once Alex learns he can even travel across the world, he quickly makes use of his abilities for personal gain as well as a "Robin Hood" approach for good deeds. Sometimes, he finds himself in a great deal of trouble.
The way that the author sets up the scenery and event wording, the reader is easily pulled into the story. Visualizations become almost instinctual, taking no effort to be present in the story and witness every detail with the main character as if actually being in that world experiencing everything first hand. The way that I could see, hear, and feel everything along with Alex made reading this book an other-worldly experience in it's own.
I firmly rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Alex Fayman is an incredible author, I feel that his own personal life story really helped him develop as a writer. This book was clearly written with heart, and partly derived from real-life experiences. Although a science fiction book with far-fetched ideas, I found much of the plot to be relatable and realistic. I enjoyed the book so much that I have downloaded part two of Superhighway and I look forward to taking off from part one's cliff-hanger.
This is a great read for everyone, but especially those who love a good thriller. With great plot twists and unpredictable events, anyone who reads this one is sure to find themselves on the edge of their seat as well. Just like myself, you will be wanting more and more once you get just a few chapters in. I will be recommending Superhighway to all of the readers I know. This is more than just a story about technology and the super ability to travel through the internet, it is about using one's history to unlock answers to who you are and what the future holds for you.
