Just as he is preparing to enroll in his freshman year at a university, Alex Fine learns more about himself than he ever did before; he has special powers. With the capability to transport himself through the passages of the internet, Alex can manipulate archived data and travel anywhere in the world. As he masters his powers, Alex quickly uses them to become a new Robin Hood; one of the digital world. He begins stealing money from a criminal oligarch and soon becomes rich beyond imagination. Alex’s journey, in Superhighway by Alex Fayman, continues as he does his best to use his powers for good, but falls prey to serious mistakes along the way.

Superhighway is an extremely entertaining book that truly encourages the reader to keep going (I read it all in one sitting). Alex Fayman does a fantastic job of making completely fleshed out characters. Each character has abilities and flaws relatable to the human spirit (which, considering the main character has superpowers, is an especially difficult task). The dialogue and inner thoughts feel real thanks to Alex Fayman’s understanding of his characters. I say this because, sometimes it feels like an author is writing their character from an outside perspective rather than the own characters point of view. However, Alex Fayman does an incredible job of creating his characters in a way that feels as though he truly knows them.

The action that took place just kept getting better and better with each new scene. I was left anticipating what would happen next and was never disappointed at the outcome. The action was intense and not just a distraction from the plot line to stretch out the book and give the reader something to do. Each bit of action served to advance the plot line in a timely manner before the reader could get exhausted at the thought of the wait for the next bit of excitement (as is the case with some other books).

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I honestly cannot think of anything that wasn’t great about this book. The author kept me intrigued from the first sentence to the last. I can say with certainty that I will be reading the next book in the series and eagerly waiting for the third one that is supposed to come out soon.

All science fiction fans would certainly want to take a look at this book. If you are interested in action, packed into a story about an ordinary guy who finds out he’s not so ordinary, then this book is for you. However, if you are a reader who is not so into stories based on superpowers or heroes, then I would not recommend reading Superhighway.
