The Sword of Justice, The Quest of the Silver Moon by Jules Kern is about two siblings named Brandon and Kyrie Fairchild. The siblings grew up on a farm in Greenshire with only the knowledge of what their parents taught them. With hopes of providing a better future for their children, the Fairchilds make plans to move to the city of Eldoria. The family would never make it there. After their mother passed from an unknown illness and their father died trying to escape bandits, the children were left in the wilderness with no idea of how to reach Eldoria. Luckily for Brandon and Kyrie, they came across the Sanctuary of the Silver Moon. There, the monks would teach them how to fight, use magic, and the importance of using these new skills with honor and wisdom. Little did they know just how important their training would be when the world of Vexin gets attacked by the ancient, mighty Titans. The same Titans who are old enemies of the Fairchild bloodline.

I enjoyed learning the backgrounds of each character. They were well-developed and relatable. I liked how the author used Draven Kroll and his goons as the devil's advocates in the Sanctuary, so not everyone came across as a goodie-too-shoes. It was heartwarming to witness the children at the sanctuary bond over their experiences. The book was easy to read and was organized. I think Kern did an amazing job using descriptive details to explain the characters, landscapes, and fighting, making it easy to imagine the story playing out.

In my opinion, there were too many time jumps. By the end of the book, I had lost track of how much time had passed. While reading, it felt like only a few months had passed when in reality, it had been a few years. I believe this made the story feel too short and, at times, rushed. I think there were multiple areas where the author could have expanded on the story. For example, I would have liked to have seen more fighting practices between the teachers and students. I think adding another monster slaying while the group was in the Icelands would have been beneficial. Adding more group conversations about what they learned or what they fought could have filled in some of the time that was skipped over. Though I didn't care for the time jumps, I will say that they did not impact my comprehension of the story.

Overall, this was a good story to read. I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5. I removed a star for the reason listed above.

There is no profanity or sexual content, making this story suitable for everyone. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the otherworldly and magical attributes of fantasy novels. There is plenty of action and adventure, along with wholesome topics of friends, family, and loyalty to keep readers entertained from beginning to end.

This was a fair, balanced review. It was good to read. I am not going to read this book because it doesn't seem to appeal to me. Nonetheless, excellent job on your side. Keep going.
