The Grandfather Paradox by Michael Kaulback takes us to the year 2030. The world is on the verge of imminent extinction in a matter of weeks or even days from mass starvation, economic crisis, and climate destruction caused by the worldwide cryptocurrency crash. Against this backdrop, we meet Mike Kelly. Following a brief extraterrestrial encounter, now 77 years old, Mike looks twenty-five and suddenly discovers supernatural abilities. He decides to travel back in time and find Natasha Hornsby, a math savant. She died in 1966 when she was only 22, but modern mathematicians are confident that her mathematical talent could make a hack-free quantum computer and save the world. Using the gamma wave powers of the latest quantum computer, Mike travels back to 1962 and sets off to England. But will Mike find Natasha and prevent her death?

Michael Kaulback’s The Grandfather Paradox was a wonderful treat for me, a sci-fi fan. It had everything I would expect from a sci-fi thriller—a mystery, an action-packed storyline, suspense, and a deep underlying theme. I thoroughly enjoyed Michael’s light-pitched writing style. I was impressed by how Michael Kaulback explained the “grandfather paradox” concept and then used it as the story’s main theme. I also liked how the storyline explored highly topical social issues of child abuse and drug addiction. Other praiseworthy aspects were the interpretation of time, human consciousness, and DNA concepts. But most of all, I enjoyed time-traveling with Mike Kelly, and I only wish it were real!

All in all, I liked every aspect of this novel, and I disliked nothing. So, I happily rate it five out of five stars.

I highly recommend this exhilarating novel to young adults and older sci-fi and time-travel fans. In addition, readers interested in applied mathematics, forex trading, cryptocurrency, and extraterrestrial contact will enjoy this book. By way of caution, intermittent violence may trigger sensitive readers.

The concept of time travel is indeed fascinating, but I am surprised that for this case, the cause of the total breakdown was a cryptocurrency crash. This is different from many books that would focus on climate change as the primary cause. Thanks for the review, @Olga Markova.

Science is a wonderful subject. It's especially nice reading scientific facts as concept of novel. That's why sci-fi are one of my favourite
