What would you do if the mystery of your family ended up with you taking on what seems like a world of responsibility and changing your way of life forever? In The Legends of Astorynia: War of Wars Ending by Brian G. Padgett, the reader, comes across that question as we follow Keagle the elf and his friends survive the War of Wars Ending. Kegel's journey is an adventure of the protagonist somehow falling into the main events of the world and rising above it.

The literary devices, such as stylistic choices, foreshadowing, and repetition, are prominent. One thing I enjoy about this story is how light-hearted it is throughout, making it a fun read. The characters play off each other well and are described well. The setting is very well done and helps set the mood throughout. This book is one that you can read to pass the time in an entertaining way without having to think too deeply about it.

One thing I dislike about this tale is the repetitiveness of some of it, such as how the day went as they were traveling. While I can understand some repeats for emphasis on certain ideas, it does drag on a bit on certain things that might not need it. The writing style also takes some getting used to and could be edited to flow better.

In conclusion, I would rate The Legends of Astorynia: War of Wars Ending a four out of five stars. One reason for this rating is that even though it's not the best-written fantasy book out there, and you will be reminded of many while you read it, the story is still interesting and a passable read to spend time on despite its flaws. I would recommend this to anyone who likes quick fantasy novels that you can read when you need something to distract or entertain you for a bit.

Thank you for this brief, yet detailed review. Your summary was informative, just as your analysis was enlightening. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed reading it.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

It's great that you highlighted the well-done setting and the characters playing off each other well, contributing to a fun reading experience where you don't need to "think too deeply." Your appreciation for the literary devices like foreshadowing and repetition also points to the author's intentional craft. Thanks for the review.
