Davis Long's heart thundered in his chest as the starship Aquarius reversed thrusters and eased to a stop just beyond the moon. His own nervous anticipation was reflected in the faces and mannerisms of the other members of the crew. He was sure they also shared his thoughts. They alone would lead the world into a new era. They would travel further and faster than any manned spacecraft before them. In short the crew of six would be the first to travel faster then the speed of light, making the jaunt to the outer fringes of the solar system and back in less than a month.
EXODUS by Jean Hackensmith and Joseph McDowell is a science fiction story depicting the destruction of earth by a neutron star and the efforts of humanity to survive. With only five years to finish the project that will ensure the survival of the human race, David, Garrett, Jennifer, Jeff and Rebecca must do everything in their power to ensure its completion. "¿Will they make it? ".
The authors did an excellent job portraying the complex emotions the characters went through, making it easy to connect with them and getting the reader to ask themself "What decisions would I make in that situation?". They also found a way to explain the science used to ensure the reader understands everything that's happening.
I enjoyed the book all throughout and must also compliment the editor for doing an amazing job. For this and everything else mentioned before I give the book 5 out of 5 stars.
