Superhighway is an awesome story by Alex Fayman. The book begins at the end of the story with Alex Fine racing through a data stream, trying to commit suicide by exhausting his powers, but he later changed his mind. Though he was nearly dead, he managed to get home.

Alex was brought up at an orphanage in L.A. upbringing. When his orphanage finally got a computer laboratory, Alex discovered he has the ability to travel through a data stream.

Alex was later attracted by a Russian Oligarch and the CIA (enemies more powerful than a single teenage boy should ever have to handle on his own) after realising he has extra abilities as a kid.

The plot of this novel was engaging, even though there was a lot of time spent in Alex's head or describing the things around him. I also appreciated the fact that a lot of thought was put into describing how Alex's powers worked. It gave those "traveling" scenes a more interactive feel.

Another thing that I did enjoy about this novel was the fact that Alex would travel throughout the world. With these powers, he was able to travel to anywhere that had an Internet cord, and this truly expanded upon the world building. I was never bored reading about the places that Alex traveled to.

There is a problem I'm having with this book and that has to do with Alex Fine who lacks impulse control. He indeed got himself into trouble that could have been simply avoided.

I’m seizing this opportunity to sound a note of warning to those who are sensitive to child abuse and neglect. The way the author begins this book shows how Alex is maltreated and this can really be unbearable to those who have had a similar experience. The poor boy is really abused.

This book was excellently edited. Though there are few wrong sentences, but they are not that significant. I believe these errors were made because the author's first language is not English.

In addition, the way and manner the author combined all the different characters in this book is amazing. There are two exceptional characters in this book that can turn the world upside down in a positive way, if given the opportunity to manifest live.

I've got no choice than to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to those who are gifted with one power or the other so as to learn how to have a self control.

A story about a person with powers to travel through data streams! That by itself totally peeks at my curiosity. I like that the review gives a heads up about the level of detail the author goes into when explaining how the protagonist was mistreated as a child. It would be interesting to know what Alex did with his powers, why he was committing suicide at the start of the book and what happens afterwards. Kudos!
