Superhighway by Alex Fayman. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from reading the description of this particular book, except that it was a techno thriller. I have not read many books from this genre, but so glad I chose this book. This book was more than a thriller, it had science fiction, government conspiracy, romance, travel and intrigue.

This book opens with the reader learning about Alex Fine, an 18 year old orphan living in Los Angeles. He was brought up at an orphanage and taken under the wing of the woman that runs the orphanage, Ms. Jenkins. Alex is just about to leave for college when an unexpected event happens and he is thrown into the web of the internet, literally. Alex can go anywhere and manipulate the system from the inside. We are transported from place to place, continent to continent with Alex as he becomes a modern day Robin Hood. While trying to figure out this new “gift” and attempting to help himself and others with his new found ability. Alex acquires unlimited amounts of money, houses, a sports car and dines at the best restaurants. Alex meets people along the way that he learns from and loves. The relationships Alex has are well thought out and explained as they progress. The descriptions from the author made me want to meet these people and learn even more about them. The author is very descriptive throughout as well, which makes made me more invested and want to keep reading.

As the book proceeds through the choices Alex makes, the reader senses what the decisions cost Alex physically and mentally. We even see the consequences that his actions cause those around him, be them good or bad. Helping others takes a toll on Alex and also puts his life and others at risk. Diving into the underbelly of the world has dire repercussions as we are shown multiple times in this gripping thriller.

Superhighway immediately piqued my interest and continued to do so. It exceeded my expectations with the thrill and hold your breath moments. Even humor at times when you would read what Alex had gotten himself into. This book constantly took you on a ride. The descriptions of every place Alex visited were so detailed, it made you feel like you were there. From the beaches of Hawaii and the Caribbean to the cities of Geneva, Amsterdam, Los Angeles and Miami, even inside the internet were well described and easily seen with my imagination. Anyone that enjoys thriller would enjoy this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is not a rating I give lightly. From the moment I started reading, this book absorbed me and I could not put it down. You know a book is good when you stay up well into the night reading. I look forward to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a great thriller!
