Alex Fine has never had a true home. He has spent most of his young life in an orphanage. All of that changes when a seemingly ordinary event helps him discover an extraordinary personal trait. Armed with this profound new knowledge, Alex sets out to change his life, but there is more to this strange ability than meets the eye, and Alex may have bitten off more than he can chew.

I enjoyed the story as a whole. I found Alex's character development to be realistic, in that I could follow, and sympathize with his decision-making process. As I was reading, I felt like I was along for the ride with him. I also enjoyed the descriptive nature of the writing. For example," Instead, I was seated on the floor of a narrow passage covered with sand. Looking up, I saw shelves with neatly arranged bottles and a ceiling with racks of hanging glasses. I felt tired and extraordinarily hungry. In fact, I had never been so hungry in my entire life." It helped paint a mental picture of the various settings, and supporting characters; which enhanced the story overall.

The only thing that was a bit confusing was the way the story began. It thrusts the reader forward into events that haven't taken place yet. It's a creative choice, meant to start off with a bang, but I was left a tad confused with a lack of context until I got to the second chapter; however, I went back and reread it once I finished the book, and it was great, and right on par with the rest of the book.

I give Superhighway by Alex Fayman 4 out of 4 stars. This was an absolute page turner. I was invested in the main character, and I wanted to know what happen next. I even found myself rooting for him when his personal choices were not of the highest caliber. This is the first book in a series, and I will be searching out the remaining books to see the tale of Alex Fine come to a conclusion.

Superhighway does contain reference to the consumption of alcohol and drugs, sex, and other situations not suitable for children. That being said, it is an excellent read for anyone looking for a thrill ride, complete with twists, dips, and turns. Make sure to block a good chunk of reading time; this one is hard to put down.
