This is true, as for the animals, as long as they don't cause anxiety (animals which should naturally be in the wild), they can also be used to help withdrawn kids to socialize themselves. People also talk to them...

I completely agree to that too! I feel most relaxed when I have my cat purring on my lap or at nighttime on the bed. It gives me the feeling that everything is safe and quiet. Yes I do relate to that. Spending time with your pet is certainly very relaxing and calms you.

Another method is writing down your thoughts. The process makes you introspect as you write, which calms down anxiety.
