Yes, continuation, growth and change are also themes that show up from the entire story. Kalayla is trying to find herself, Maureen is struggling to get a better life and Lena is working tirelessly to heal and change her present from the lessons she got from her past. All these things contribute to the easy flow of the book, which keeps the reader entertained and informed.

'Family Ties' would be a good alternative. However, I think the distinctiveness of the book would be terminated. I mean, Kalayla was the youngest but most part and best part of the story revolved around her.AnnOgochukwu wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:07 I think the title is suitable for the book. Although it might also be something like 'Family Ties'.
Kalayla is just okay.

I agree with the fact that the most captivating experiences of the book revolve around Kalayla. I mean, her childish experience gives her the platform to turn her life around. And that's the best part of the book.Guda LM wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 05:27 I believe it is appropriate, since the eleven-year-old is the youngest and the common factor between the other two ladies. Additionally, she is also the one who has gone through alot in a short period of time time and still has a alot of room to turn her life around. She is also both mature but still has a child side, basically she is the most profound of the three.

I came here to say exactly this. Although we shouldn't, people have a distinct tendency to give an unbalanced amount of "to-read points" to a title and a cover. If the cover isn't attractive, and the title tells me nothing about a book, there is unfortunately a higher chance that I'm going to pass it by. "Family Ties," as previously suggested, at least gives the potential reader the impression that it will be a family-based, likely dramatic, story.Sushan wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 07:06It is intriguing, agreed. But should a title has to be intriguing? Should it not give some sort of insight for the book? In that aspect, 'family ties' could have been a better alternative. What do you think?Ruba Abu Ali wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 13:22 I think the title of the book is suitable. To me, 'Kalayla' is more intriguing than 'family ties'.
