I like Kalayla because she was headstrong, humorous and always stood her ground. She was inspirational for a 12 year old.

Kalayla is funny and the language she uses is so exhilarating. I would however vote for Lena. I love everything she does, from the way she talks, the way she dresses, and also the color of her apartment.

Kalayla is my favourite character in the book. Lovely personality just like her name. Her adventurous streak and bubbly persona endear me. Also her wit takes the cake among other characters.

My favourite character in the book was definitely Rico. He had the ability to manage and take control of situations before they escalated.

Of course, it's Kalayla. Her personality is lovely. I admire her for having a sharp wit.
Books are a unique form of accessible magic. Reading is required for those who wish to rise above the mundane. If you dislike reading, it's most likely because you haven't found the right book.

My favorite character was Maureen because her decisions and character taught me not to follow a life planned by other people and always trust my feelings. Also, she is an example for all the mothers because she managed to raise her daughter alone while dealing with two jobs and trying to get over her husband's death.

Carlotta was the best character. I love animals too and maybe that's why I feel drawn to her. I loved the friendship between lena and carlotta and how much they supported each other.

Kalayla made this book fun. A small girl with a mature nature. Though she was way too loud.

My favorite character was definitely kalayla. She has a smart mouth and is very intelligent and curious. Her perception of lena during their first encounters was also humorous.

I have a hard time choosing between Lena and Kalayla. If pressed, I think I would choose Kalayla. But honestly, it was their interactions that made the book shine.

If I should pick my favorite character, it would definitely be Maureen. She went through so much in her life, but still managed to come out on the other end, and build a lifestyle despite how hard the world made it for her! It is not easy to raise a child all on your own, while also dealing with being kicked out by your own family, and losing your beloved husband. I am just overall a huge fan of her hard-working, strong, empathic and sweet personality!
