Who was your favorite character and why?

If you ask me my favorite character was Kayala. I loved her character in this book. I was touched by her story.

I have a hard time choosing between Kalayla and Lena. There was so much growth in their characters throughout the story. It was touching to see, though, how everything that happened to Kalayla had some impact on both Maureen and Lena as well.

I agree with you... I too was stuck in choosing whose story touched my heart more but in the end it was Kayala.

My favorite character is definitely Kalayla! I fell in love with her character from the first chapter. Lena is a very close second though!

My favorite would have to be Kalayla because she went through so much at such an early age. And, I so enjoyed my daughters and their friends during their teens. Even the ones thst have had hardships just seem to have a life force about them that just makes you feel more alive when around them.

Kalayla of course. Her character is endearing. I'm not saying I didn't like the others, just that she was the heartbeat of the book

Kaylala takes my vote. Her character is worthy of emulation and she is so full of humor despite her circumstances. And she is the baby of the house which makes her more appealing to choose.

I agree with your view. Kayala saw so much for her age and went through a lot.

You are absolutely right. Her child like innocence made me have a soft corner for her. She was just a young girl who went through hardships but that didn't stop her from being humorous.

My favorite character is Maureen. She's a hard worker and always pulls her weight

Kalayla can talk. Haha, that moment she describes Lena and asks her why she's always dressed in black gave me a barrel of laughs.

What's your funniest Kalayla moment? It's hard for me to choose, but I like it when she opts for peanut butter cookies to carry Lena's bags.

I am jinxed
Pretty true. But don't you find the best moments to be when Kalayla and Lena are talking?

I agree with you. For some time, I am still not able to place my judgment on who should take the spot. Nicholas's creativity is unique.
