Yes, she was the youngest and the elder females were responsible for her future, and had to act accordingly

"Family ties" is a good alternative, but it will cut down the uniqueness of the book which is given by the current titleAnnOgochukwu wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:07 I think the title is suitable for the book. Although it might also be something like 'Family Ties' .

Yeah, I agree with you. Besides, I doubt 'Family Ties' would encompass all the elements of this book.Sushan wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:13"Family ties" is a good alternative, but it will cut down the uniqueness of the book which is given by the current titleAnnOgochukwu wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:07 I think the title is suitable for the book. You are correct. The book covers a lot of area which includes family matters as well as matters outside the family. So such a title will narrow down the actual scope of the bookAnnOgochukwu wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:18Yeah, I agree with you. The innocence and the care-free nature of the little girl inevitability takes all the attention, and in that mean it is reasonable to give the book her name as the titleanoushka_thakur wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 10:56 I believe Kayala's essence is captured the most in the book and that she has connections with the rest. The book surely revolves around all three but I think Kayala has the most part.

Yes, she is the centre of the dynamics of those three women. Yet there were two other protagonists as well as some other (less important) characters. Could it had a better name than the name of one of its protagonists?Maconstewart wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 15:26 I think the name is perfect. Her name is unique, and therefore can draw many in just from curiosity. Also, Kalayla is the center figure of the three womens' dynamic, so naming the book after her is appropriate.

It is intriguing, agreed. But should a title has to be intriguing? Should it not give some sort of insight for the book? In that aspect, 'family ties' could have been a better alternative. What do you think?Ruba Abu Ali wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 13:22 I think the title of the book is suitable. To me, 'Kalayla' is more intriguing than 'family ties'.
