Race and Domestic violence really stood out in this book as a social issue.

Well Jeannie has done a good job exploring a lot of social issues which the society still faces till date. They are racism, abuse both sexual and emotionally, friendship, gender equality, child labour, poverty and also the issues involving families. the author has tried to cover the field with respect to this topic and this book continues to remind us that these issues are still present in the society, and we need to find a way to curb as many as we can in other to make the world a better place

The writer explored a lot of them such as racism and sexuality, but one I like to talk about is the issue of interracial marriages. This is because I believe that interracial marriages are a sort of a slap in the face to the upholders of racism.

Yes, Racism is also one of the current social issues explored by the Jeannie Nicholas in her book. According to UNESCO, Racism has been called the social cancer of our time. It gnaws away slowly and insidiously until it invades the whole organism of society and erupts in violence and death.
There a few more social issues discussed in the book that are a replica of what is happening in our world today, be it sexual abuse, poverty, mental illness etc.

The story indeed tackled a lot of the current social issues we have right now such as abuse, racism, child care and violence.

Lena not being in good terms with her children can also be considered one as there is a tendency for others to just neglect their parents when they grow old.

The most pressing social issues that stood out to me were, poverty, racism, and interracial relationships. It is sad that Kalayla had to deal with these issues at such a young age. Children should get to be children!

The issues I spotted were racism, gender inequalities, domestic violence, and poverty. Poverty was the highlighted social issue for me since it speaks so much of how Kalayla was brought to the world, being homeless and the availability of proper clothing.

There are many of them, but the ones that stood out to me were poverty, sexual abuse, and racism. Somehow, these social issues are always related as regards their impacts on any society.

We have xenophobia and racial stigmatisation. The main protagonist, Kaylyla, faces some mild stigma because of her interracial origins. This is not such a big factor as portrayed in the book, but I believe it has some bearing on her life and happiness.

The main issues experienced today are poverty, housing, domestic violence, racism and gender balance. Maureen worries about them being kicked out of the house.

Have you considered xenophobia and stereotyping? These are very pertinent issues, brought out in stark relief in Kaylyla.

The most evident social issues are bigotry and sexual harassment also there is income inequality, mental issues, child care, elderly care, and housing challenges.
