For this month, we will read Cozy Mystery/Crime Book Books.

Crime: It's a genre that presents crimes, the investigation to the crimes, criminals, and their motives in a fictional way. Most times, suspense and mystery are woven into the book's plot.

Cozy mystery: This is a subgenre of crime, where sex and violence are toned down or presented in a light/humorous manner. The crime at hand is usually taken place in a small intimate community. These books are considered to be "fun reads" and usually feature an amateur sleuth.

I have read Alan Bradley and Agatha Christie's books and loved them. I also read and loved the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

Right now I am re-reading Sherlock Holmes' stories and enjoy them.

I have read Gone Girl and the Sookie Stackhouse series. Both were great!

I plan on going the cozy route for this month’s discussion and ordered the first book in the Cat in the Stacks series by Miranda James, Murder Past Due.

I enjoy cozy mysteries with animal tie-ins.

I just received an email saying it’s back ordered and will take a couple more days to ship, so hopefully it arrives soon!

I suggest starting from A Study in Scarlet, the first book, as it introduces the two protagonists. The stories are great!

I like James Patterson's books but when I was a kid I loved the Hardy Boys books I recommend them for anyone with kids.

I've read Gone Girl too, and that novel is something else. Very elaborate revenge plot. Too bad the movie sucked. I've also read Gillian Flynn's Dark Places and that one is even more darker than Gone Girl and the plot twist is just, wow.

For Agatha Christie, I read And Then There Were None, which kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the book.
