I think that he deserves to be one of the main character. Him and I find Voulhire beautiful, peaceful, welcoming and setup very well. It is worlds apart from the Lands of the Princes that do not have an array of tranquility, with the uncertainity of tomorrow roaming all them.

I don't see who else would have been the main person in this book if not Galen. Besides, I believe this first book in the series just gave us an insight to the more to come in this book. I believe Galen is a good enough protagonist.

In my opinion, he does. He will grow to become a great man. He is compassionate and kind.

Even though he has an intriguing backstory, I didn't really place him as the main character. I feel it should be shared equally among all the characters assigned to their particular scene.

My favorite character is Galen, for his simplicity and courage. It is possible that in the first book it seems that he does not shine as much as the protagonist, however it is an introduction to the development of a complete saga, which promises many plot twists and an interesting development.

Galen struck me as having a rather flat personality for a protagonist. Galen, in my opinion, lacked a backbone, hence I like Rowan and perhaps King Wilhem a little more. However, I believe that readers may see some character growth over the remaining books in the series.

I think that Galen is fit to be the main character. He has a good backstory and I think that he has the potential to be something even better. Since this is the first book in the series, I believe he still has a lot to offer.

I do think Galen is fit to be the main character to the book although he was portrayed in book one as one of the many protagonist. I think in later series he would make a good main character. It also brought the reader closer to the source of happenings in Voulhire.

I felt as though Galen was flat and uninteresting. His journey with Rowen felt like an effort to explore Voulhire without necessity. However, his mysterious background contributed to the suspense of the narrative, but this alone does not give him enough interest to be the main character.

I think the first book doesn't really portray 'Galen as the main character' in the best light. This is because, the author used this first book to build the background plot of the entire series. He unraveled a lot of potential protagonists for the remainder of the series, Galen being one of them. Also, the traits Galen portrayed puts him on the spot as a potential 'hero' in another story. I'm planning to read the rest of the series because the first book was very intriguing.

No, the book had too many characters, too many protagonists, that it was difficult to tell Galen as the main protagonist. There were too many angles and subplots and I felt like Galen as the main character wasn't given the spotlight that befits the main character.
The gift turned out to be a curse. They killed him with kindness.
