I would've added some meaningful female characters. There were hardly any in this work and those that were included were hyper-sexualized, which greatly took away from my enjoyment of this book.

My heart really beaks at the death of the captain on the island. If one thing I could change was the final consequences of the battle of the island. Instead of killing the captain, they could have captured him. That would be less painful. The death of Eldus and his family don't hurt me as much as the death of the brave captain.

Hmm... I guess I would've changed the king to be a kind and generous guy. I wonder how different the story would've been if it was like that.

Well, I would change nothing about it. I believe it is okay the way it is.

I would develop more on the magic and how it works, because this is a first book and we should have a clearer view on the rules it has. Also, I thought the ending was a bit convolluted, so maybe make it longer and reduce other parts that seemed as trivial scenes and weren't so connected.
I agree with you; more light should have been shed on the magic and the term bio magic. Explaining the distinctions between their qualities and users, as well as the rules that govern each. An explanation of why the latter was deemed bad and forbidden would have been preferable.

I think the book is good as it is. It is the first book in a 9-part series so.....Anyways while I know Lord Eldus death was necessary, I would have saved him and his family.
