"Wounds do not heal properly if left open to infection."

Simple and precise, it holds a lot of meaning.
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough

Two quotes stood out for me;

"For underneath this dark and quiet city was a man who liked to dance, and an army that stepped to his beat."

"Wounds do not heal properly if left open to infection."

'See the good in everything, and the best of it will find you,' -Galen's grandmother.

I really find this quote sweet and engaging. How I hope we get to know Galen's grandma more. (I'm only on the first book so -. Do we get a flashback? (Crossing my fingers for that).

I thought the book had a lot of great quotes! My favorite one though is :

"you are the author of your own story!"

Simple, yet so powerful !

I don't have a favorite quote per se. But, the quote below mentioned as a nice quote.

" Death lurks at every doorway in the Lands of Princes. After a while, you learn to defy it's influences.
Memories are dangerous things. You turn them over and over, until you know every touch and corner, but still you'll find an edge to cut you.― Mark Lawrence, Prince of Thorns

This was one of mine. I laughed so hard. It just sort of stuck in my head. There are several really good quotes in this book though. It is hard to chose just one. But this one played on my laughter,.

This too came heartfelt to me, his uncle's letter for him made me wonder if this was his first time to receive such affection although it was contained in texts.

My favourite quote is: "This is a world where change didn’t just come at the snap of a finger; change had to be worked for, had to be planned and properly executed."
It resonates with me because change does take time to take effect in this world as much as in the book.

"I couldn't reason at the time why I was so afraid of death in my homeland yet so accepting of it here on this unstable boat. Looking back on it now, I think it was because I finally had hope. It almost didn't matter whether the hope came through. It felt so good just to have it."

"See the good in everything and the best of it will find you" - Galen adopted this quote, told to him by his grandmother, as his life motto, and this is my favourite line from the first book.
