Definitely! I've read the first two books in the series and they do stand out. I'm eager to get my hands on the rest of the series.

Probably not. The first book didn't have a satisfying ending that entices me to know what's going to happen. I don't need a happy ending, by all means I like sad endings. But, I didn't feel like any of the characters had evolved. Their opinions and point of views didn't mature, and without a satisfying climax I don't feel compelled to follow these characters. It feels like any misfortune or events won't affect them in any meaningful way.
