I really like the dynamics of the groups. There is distrust but that is the individual character's issue and I think less with the relationships themselves. Their bickering about things sounds like a close knit group or a family even. They are comfortable enough with each other that they can argue and second guess and poke fun. It doesn't always seem mean spirited to me.

I don't think both Rowan and Demi hate each other. Though, I did sense that both want to have Gal as best friend. By the time we keep on reading, we would see how probably they would show their true appreciateion of each other for the complementarity the exist in each person's nature.
