I don't think Galen has gotten enough shine for most of the series so far, I'd agree that I think we need more growth from the character.
The new characters were interesting and having the addition of a female character made me wonder the direction the plot would head in.
Overall, I think this one felt more like a transition book rather than a standalone.

I have rated it 4 out of 4 stars and I would definitely recommend it to someone who has read the previous 3 books. Galen's progress as a hero is very slow, and as there will be 9 books in this series, it's only to be expected that we won't see much of Galen's potential just yet, and I would really love for every reader to know that there's more to Galen than his apparent naivety.
People who read are hiders. They hide who they are. People who hide don't always like who they are.

I agree with you 100%. This was my favorite book of the series so far (yet to read the rest). I love the progress of the characters. I feel like I am getting to know them slowly. There are no sudden changes, which I appreciate.Leyla Ann wrote: ↑11 Dec 2020, 13:31 I think it's one of the best in this series. There was so much unexpectedness and a light dose of romance, what could I ask more of the author?! lol
