The powder keg of politics and espionage that you mention make gives this book a sense of reality, which is a plus for me for I usually give this genre a wide berth. Just like with you and the book, your allusion to Trump is not lost on me.

It seems to look into the complexities and politics of breakthroughs in military technology. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

This looks to be an exciting book with a quite different take on the classic war and military books. Good to know that it's a fast-paced book. Mark seems like the type of energetic protagonist who is besieged by many things. Thanks for sharing this wonderful review.

If it is an audio book, then I would be interested in reading it. I love the plot too.

A novel with action, science, and politics. This is surely my cup of tea. I also want to find what happened with Mark and his discovered death ray.

I feel like "Death rays" is such a boring name for something like this. Might read the sample later.

I think that readers will enjoy just what Mark's discovery will bring him. I love how readers are not left in the dark early on. Thanks for the review! :)

This military thriller story sounds like it is a page-turner. I know it's not for me, but I hope others who do enjoy this genre find it hard to put down. Great review!

The protagonist of this story seems to have an intriguing character as he discovers a death ray being a high-tech engineer of Silicon Valley.

You did a great job by describing the book best. I am in love with war related milliatry novels so this amused me a lot. :)

Death Ray by Tom King seems to be a good read. Though I am not particularly a fan of war fiction, this book got me intrigued. The character of Mark sounds interesting. Congrats on BOTD!

Accidentally inventing a death ray is a good plot for a story, and I loved that the author approached it with humor. It sounds like Mark is going to have a good spot of trouble with the government trying to wrest his death ray from them. I hope he succeeds! Thanks for the great review!
