Review of Just a Little Broken
Just A Little Broken by Le' Vian Dea is a supernatural thriller with an erotic twist that leaves you fantastically drawn to the storyline.
Morrigan Bloodchild is excited for the future but tired of her life at the moment. After her grandmother passed away, a void was left in her heart. Along with money, an ex-boyfriend, and her band having issues, she is growing more desperate, trying to find her way without accepting help from others. Her hardships change one night after a visit from a mysterious stranger who gives her an offer she can't refuse. An excruciatingly painful tattoo shows up on her arm, which leads to a change that she could have never imagined. While trying to keep her bandmates in check as they land the gig that would finally put their band on the map, she becomes more distant, erratic, and angry. Is the price of fame worth it, especially when an evil force is behind it?
Can Morrigan keep her friends safe, repair broken relationships, maintain her band and stay alive at the same time?
I found myself excitedly drawn to the story itself and Morrigan's friends. I honestly wasn't fond of Morrigan at first, but she grew on me as I learned her history and thought processes. When the eerie stranger appeared, and the tattoo magically showed up on her arm, I was enraptured and begging to know where that would lead. I enjoyed the way the characters developed and sometimes unraveled, wondering what would happen in the next chapter. I found myself wrapped up in the characters' lives and sharing their pain and fear. The erotic scenes only helped enfold you into the story.
I did not like the overuse of nicknames or pet names. I also found several grammatical errors, including switching from present to past tense, so the text was not professionally edited. However, I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading and seeing more from Le' Vian Dae. I would recommend this book to a mature reader who loves a demonic thriller steeped in eroticism and doesn't mind an ample amount of adult language. For these reasons, I give this book 3 out of 4 stars! It was a wild ride of a story that kept me constantly interested and only needs minor editing.
If you'd love to see what it might take to be a famous frontwoman, singer, and songwriter in a popular band while dealing with demonic forces that pull at every turn with an excitingly erotic push, then this story is perfect for you!
