Review: A Taste of Fear

Post by bookbliss »

Book Description: When Arianne Beauchamp decided to stay home alone on New Years Eve, she had no idea that she would be fighting for her life only hours later.

Stalked by a madman in her Boston mansion, Arianne must keep her wits about her in the face of darkness and an unknown enemy.

Review:5 stars

General: Memory-stalker. Stealing memories and living them as your own, losing yourself to them and being powerless to stop it. That is how Arianne lives her life. Socially elite but forced to trap herself away because of the dark power she holds. Forced to live with whatever she sees….even murder.

A Taste of Fear is a fantastic short story. Memory-stalking is something I sure haven’t read before and T.M. Scott creates and uses such dark premise wonderfully. The descriptions in the book were perfect. Vivid and wonderfully dark, tinged with all the elements to push me further. I couldn’t pull myself away from the computer while I read, wanting to know every detail and finish the story before I finished what I had been doing when I sat down for the quick read.

My only complaint? To have more!

Characters: It is a little tough to address characters in this short read. However, the characterization was very strong. In the pages it was easy to get a feel for Arianne from her distaste of her “ability” to her fear as she is being stalked.
