Public Opinion by Nathan Pettijohn is a crime thriller regarding an IT professional who utilizes his hacking techniques and online character to blackmail and manipulate those at a higher level.

Herb, who goes by his known name, Melvin Ritkin, is a social media specialist. He uses this to provide services for people. Elmer, his friend, introduces him to Titus and his friend, Oscar, who he helped when his laptop was hacked. He helped them solve certain matters, such as helping Titus's new movie get an excellent review and an Oscar award. He also helped Fred frame Daniel, which resulted in his arrest and imprisonment. In doing all of these, he neglected his wife and his newborn baby by keeping his job secret. On arrival from a journey, he saw Ruby with his hard disk and figured she would have seen everything inside it. What will he do? She threatens to report her findings to the police, but would she do it? Is Melvin's life bound for a turnaround? If yes, would it be a tragic one? Read the book and find out.

The novel is a gripping story about the life of a man who is ready to go beyond his limits to achieve more. The book is a genre of fiction that deals with crime, criminals, and their motives. It entertains readers with fascinating mysteries that include dastardly acts and continues to increase the tension until the conclusion. The protagonist crafts and shapes the life of the public through the use of the internet. He takes care of various problems and shapes them to reflect them on his client. It is undeniably a gritty story on the dark side of the internet.

I loved how well the book was well-written and very descriptive. The characters were also well used, even though I didn't feel empathy towards them because of the bad things they did, especially Titus, who told Melvin to help him get a good review and an award for his film. I also loved that readers were hooked and didn't know what to expect on the next page. Lastly, I also love how Melvin takes us through every step, thereby offering a frenetic peek into the scandalous lives of the rich and famous.

The book is very interesting, and the characters are displayed with discernable flaws that make them more compelling. Hence, I found nothing wrong with this book. With just a few errors, I think the book was professionally edited.

The book is riveting, and the tale about manipulating public opinion through the internet is very intriguing. Thus, I would like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to lovers of crime thriller books with a bit of suspense.

Public opinion- that man holding the newspaper. I was a bit taken aback when l learnt the summary. It doesn't work with the cover illustration but somehow it does. Great review!

A story revolving around IT crime sounds intriguing, it is something I haven't read before. I am a bit confused on the title and cover though, it doesn't seem to relate to the story at all. Thank you for the review.

In my place, they say that the wife of a debtor speaks the same syllable with the husband. I think the hacker's wife should try and shield the husband. Love covers multitudes of sins. I love the review.

Melvin Ritkin sounds really close to Kevin Mitnick, notorious computer hacker and pirate. The subject is intriguing, so I'm curious about this novel. Thank you for your great review!
