This is a very unique story. I've read many stories of murder from different views but never from the point of murderer. This would be a very interesting story to read. Congrats on BOTD!!

I am intrigued by the concept of approaching a murder story from the murderer’s perspective and having the perpetrator of the murder and—I’m cringing internally typing this—child sexual abuse realize he did something wrong, even twenty years later, is definitely different. It’s important to raise awareness about this kind of abuse, what can lead to it, and who might commit it, the possibility of male stereotypes doesn’t sit with me any better than female stereotypes would. Still, I might give it a try. Thank you for the helpful review.

This is a lovely book to read, reading from the perspective of the perpetrator is nice to read. I think a lot of parents and prospective parents should read and learn from the book. Nice review.

This was super hard for me to read, considering what it was about. This is something that happens in the world every single day. I don't agree with the fact that his father protected him. If he was my son is be going to jail for murder cause I'd kill his a**. Second thing I don't like is how he spoke about little girls. Regardless of how someone dresses no means no, she was a child and her mother dressed her accordingly to how kids dress in pageants all the time for many years. This is like saying that if you see a woman in half naked it gives you the right to rape her. No means no, I don't care if she's butt naked. He took her innocence and then her life that wasn't right he do deserve to die but not from cancer he deserves to die at the hands of someone for what he did. What I do like is how the story is told from a pedophilic point of view, and how he acknowledge that he was wrong, I just think its sad that it took him 20 years to figure out he was wrong and he deserves to die and he should be punished. This was hard for me to read because as I read I visualize things I can't help it. For me reading is like watching a movie. Also I have a 6 year old daughter and I would kill someone for messing with her in anyway

I skipped most parts of the book. Felt sordid just reading how he described his lust over a child. It felt like he was 'remorseful' only because he was dying of cancer. His repentance seemed emotionless to me.

Child abuse is real, and men aren't the perpetrators so much as those that never get reported, women with their believable white lies get away with abusing unsuspecting children of either gender.
While men are already in the spotlight perched on a pedestal to be judged solely for being men, this doesn't sit well with viewing all men in that same light, otherwise why don't women and children just live by themselves away from men, let's see if there won't be any abuse of children!
It's because of these views a lot of men decide to be absent fathers, uncommitted in relationships, walk out on their families, because of being categorised with those who have done wrongs and only because they usually are mostly but not only men!
I'm not sure if this will attract male readers, but there's nobody who want to be made to feel guilt just for being a natural being, otherwise the generalisations sound sexist and unwarranted. It war against men.
