I just recently finished this thriller, and I have to admit that I don’t know whether to say that I enjoyed it or that I didn’t enjoy it. Initially, the book was very slow going. There was a substantial back story that had to be filled in, and there were a lot of obvious clues that were included. However, once the backstory was complete, the main plot line was finally allowed to play out, and it was intriguing. Overall, the book was a bit theatrical in areas, boring in others, but there were parts I enjoyed and definitely parts I could do without.

In an effort to leave out any spoilers, I will refrain from including too much of the plot line. As I mentioned earlier, there were some obvious clues, so I do not want to ruin the storyline before you even get an opportunity to read it. However, I will at least begin by saying this is a third book in a trilogy that I had not known about until after half-way through the book.

That still makes me question the extreme dedication to the backstory. Perhaps it wasn’t a true “trilogy?” Maybe the author has only reused the same characters and did not extend plots between stories. I guess I will have to read the first two to be certain. What I can tell you is that the book is about two women who come to terms with their pasts, but in order to do so, they must come together in their present.

The text is well written. The author is very good at putting pen to paper, and she definitely draws the reader in. However, it took me some dedication to finishing the book at first to keep from putting it down. (The backstory – horribly long, somewhat entertaining). However, once she got in to the main storyline, I was hooked.

Of course, the book is a bit cliché, which was not helped by the obvious clues that were presented. The ending was just about laid out as I was reading. However, it was definitely a good read. I think that I may read the first two in the series, but I will not be putting a priority on them.

My rating – 2 stars. I didn’t necessarily like the book, but I think others might enjoy it.

I am familiar with this author's books. I have read a couple of them. Sorry to hear that you didn't really enjoy the book.

I am going to try to read some of her other books. I am hoping to like them - I always feel badly when I don't like a book. I know that the author works really hard to complete a story, so I always like to give them another chance.

Hopefully you will enjoy the other books you read by her. I also don't like when I don't like a book especially if I am looking forward to reading it.
