I read the sample of the book 'Going Gone' by Abraham Lopez. The narration style of this author, I feel is fine and unique. There are, though a few grammatical errors here and there, it didn't seem to disturb the reader any serious way.
Though, I am not interested in political novels, this book kept me engaged throughout my reading the book sample. I felt thrilled in one or two situations while reading the sample part.
I am yet to read the actual plot of the novel(I have read only the sample pages). My opinion is that this book is going to be catchy throughout.
I feel, the book needs some minor editing to target a perfect score from the readers. For the sample pages, I can give three out of five stars.

Going Gone is surely a different kind of book that I would love to read. Little vignettes that are connected with interesting characters. Great book.

I'm looking forward to reading it. Thanks for your thoughtful review, I've added it to my bookshelf as a result.
Your description of the format reminds me of the documentary style of story telling, depth is gained by the layering the experience of many. Perhaps for this occasion it might be better presented as a movie rather than book format. There's big money in dystopian movies these days, you never know!

'Dystopian' and 'collapse of society' are perhaps a little grandiose for this book. It isn't 1984. However I do agree it is interesting and different. One of the things this author does particularly well, is his ability to describe events.

Going, Gone is a refreshing addition to the dystopian novel genre. Each chapter commands the attention of its readers, the author integrating something new and original onto every page. The characters are inimitable, all with well-developed storylines attached. Those in search of an apocalyptic anthology that will keep them on their toes will definitely enjoy.

This sounds like the perfect type of book to stash in my bag for periodic commutes to the office. Thanks about the heads up about the typos.
