Review of The 7th Vice
"If the wolves get hungry, you become food.” There was no real loyalty on the street; Joey had learned this the hard way. After introducing Carmine to Angelo, Carmine had become a boss, and Joey had been left behind. For Carmine, it was all about more money and power. Meanwhile, Joey planned his revenge. Carmine was only twenty-two, but he was living like a forty-year-old man. He was sleeping with a woman ten years his senior, who was teaching him all the tricks he needed to stay on top. What else could a young man want? Power. This was the vice that was haunting him now, and he was not going to stop until he had it all in the palm of his hands. What becomes of Carmine and Joey? Find out by reading this book.
The 7th Vice: Pleasurable Evils by Carmine Piro is an expertly written book about the hustle in "the streets". I absolutely loved reading this wonderful work of fiction. The intriguing nature of crime stories is always fueled by great settings. I enjoyed the way the author created the setting of the book. The characters and the environment were in sync. Everything about the book was very believable.
I enjoyed reading the conversations between the characters. This was another aspect of the book I considered believable. The street language was authentic. Because the descriptions were vivid, it felt like I was seeing a movie. The romantic scenes between Carmine and Bella were steamy. I liked that it wasn't overdone, and it added some spice to the book. It was interesting to see the different shades of Carmine: at home, he was a humble kid, and in the streets, he was willing to do anything to get more power. This book was very far from being monotonous, and this heightened my enjoyment of it.
There was nothing about this book that significantly disturbed me. At some point, the number of characters increased, and the conversations were confusing and hard to keep track of. Apart from this, which I felt should be expected because of the genre of the book, there was nothing else that interfered with my reading experience. I did not encounter any errors in this book; it was perfectly edited. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I have no reason to give it a lower rating.
I recommend this book to lovers of crime books. Readers should be aware that this book contains a significant level of sexual content.
