Review: Whodunnit? Murder in Mystery Manor

Post by JRicouard »

I had never read a murder mystery in my life, mainly because I hate feeling scared, "Whodunnit? Murder in Mystery Manor," was a perfect introduction. Giles, one of the primer Butlers is called upon by an anonymous millionaire to work at their mansion until the end of his days. After deciding to take such an interesting job and without having met his employer, Giles finds himself in the most horrific game of life and death ever played. Based upon the television show created by this novel's author, it will keep you guessing until the end.
Once I began this murder mystery I started to guess who was going to be the culprit and every time I thought I had finally figured it out their would be another twist in the tale. I thoroughly enjoyed every page and at times felt as if I was actually playing along. I had my favorite players and those I did not care for but I was constantly engaged in this interesting game of murder.
I would recommend this as someone who has always been slightly unsure of the murder mystery genre. There is nothing too gruesome that you want to stop reading but it is certainly not a children's book. Anthony E. Zuiker, the author, is creator and executive producer of CSI and has finally translated his love for murder mysteries into the classic medium of print. If you can't get enough of these types of television shows I would prompt you to read this book. It isn't a difficult read and it is very enjoyable.
