Barracuda the sequel to free fish friday

Post by Charmaine Mahlangu »

Lee Stone's sequel to Free Fish Friday is exquisite. There are so many versions of Slacker Mills and I can't even keep up. In this sequel we see a romantic ,nurturing and sensitive side to our very own Slacker Mills. There's nothing I love more than little bit of romance in a mystery and thriller collection.

Harry Mills, also know known as Slacker Mills is the best at fishing and Key West and Rusty Hook are places that can testify of such. On his way out of Key West events unfold. Now he has had enough from being a prime suspect in Jerry Porters Murder to Dr Gerald Porterlands murder . He figures going away will solve his problems but unfortunately he has become the official tourist attraction of the South Marina.

Approached by Mayor Millie who wants Slacker to be a fishing tournament director leaves him sceptical and elevates his trust issues as this has come as a huge surprise. Devan , his girl friend is excited about this and buys him a companion, a puppy called Stuart. He is ordered to take care of it.This does not excite him at all but submits.Devan also leaves him with hundreds of thousands of dollars which happens to be an inheritance from his own mother. Why would all these things suddenly happen on his way out of Key West? Could it be orchestrated and is it enough to keep him there? There's only one way to find out , it's all between the pages.

The emotional rollercoaster and his surroundings turning his back against him does take its toll on him . It changes a man and we can all tell that he really wants to leave but circumstances do not really favor him . The chapters are always short and straight forward with less dialogue as usual as the protagonist narrates the entire book. I would have loved to see more dialogues and less of him narrating this time around. It gives life to the characters of the book.

Proper editing skills were shown here and the tone of the book regardless of what is happening has always been calm and sunset Miami like . I don't know how he does it but Lee Stone is not here to play . A 5 out of 5 rating from me. Keep Slacker Mills alive at all costs.
Be yourself and nothing less
