How to make a monster and why no one cares by Paul Glasco

Post by Charmaine Mahlangu »

An overwhelming book . This is an informative piece of evidence. Written in a great way is the introduction of what and how killers are formed. I felt like I was being transported to a lecture on understanding a rampage killer.

This book was written in a perspective of an open minded and smart individual. Calculative too.Paul Glasco through his writing takes no particular side to speak on behalf of any, whether rampage or psychopath of a killer. He explains in his intro that rampage killers are sociopaths while psychopaths are born. This alarmed me enough to believe it is true.

Psychopaths are born that way. They are born lacking in empathy and little can be done to change such. In this case their behaviour starts from a very tender age for example our Jeffrey Dahmers . They find themselves showing interest in body organs and slaughtering your pets, pets going missing and being killed by your toddler. It made me aware of my surrounding in a very remarkable way as a parent and how exactly does one notice they are raising a serial killer.

Sociopaths on the other hand are like me and you. Changed by circumstances and heartbreak or being mistreated. Those are enough for some of us to be rampage killers. Remember Pollock Kuklinski. A serial killer who killed over a hundred men for a living. He did it with no empathy and for a salary or in his case for financial survival. But Pollock was the weirdest. He had a family. He was married with a wife and daughters and that's why in his killing he never killed a woman.

This shows that sociopaths in particular have a conscience and most of them kill themselves after a killing spree. This showed me that there is a thin line between any of us and a serial killer. It's a matter of decision and Paul had an interestingly smart way of demostrating it.

This educational piece of evidence was easy to read and quick to fall in love with . The chapters though we're too long that does sometimes make you feel like your not going to finish the book anytime soon. I loved how he described every scenario and straight to the point in writing he was. 5/5 rating from me . The jargon was easy to understand and relatable too .
