Re: Review of The Prescription

In the story "The Prescription", the first time I came across Tennessee Assistant Attorney General named Casey Copper, I got attached to his character. He quit a well-paying job to look after his grandmother, which spoke much about him. I was touched by the story of his discovery into the hard facts on opioid epidemic and confrontation with powerful pharmaceutical firms; he is truly brave. I was caught up in understanding all the complexities around our hero's fight against these drug barons who seemed unbeatable but somehow looked frail compared to him – hence appreciating his daring spirit.” I was personally cheering for him through his legal wars”

"This sounds like a gripping read! 'The Prescription' by K. C. Gilbert delves into the harrowing reality of addiction to painkillers and the legal battles surrounding their production. I was hooked from the start, feeling like I was right there in Nashville, Tennessee, witnessing the unfolding drama. Adding this to my reading list ASAP! Thanks for the recommendation!"

This book sounds like a gripping and thought-provoking read, shedding light on the devastating impact of addictive painkillers and the legal battles surrounding their production and distribution. It's concerning to hear about the real-life experiences that inspired the fictional narrative, highlighting the urgent need for accountability in the pharmaceutical industry.

The story shows how a normal healthy person can fall into the shackles of addiction. Why the people responsible for saving our lives i.e the pharmaceutical companies, don't stop making these harmful drugs with severe side-effects? Who is responsible for lives affected? And is the justice served? There are so many questions. The storyline is interesting and you want to know what happens next. It is like a real life legal-medical thriller. Thanks for the detailed review.

Hi @Margi zuu202, I just read your comments on the official review of "The Prescription" and I recalled that you are the number one book reader in the club with more than 80,000 books read. How do you find the time to read so many books? You must be a speed-reader. My only recommendation is that you leave a more detailed review so readers will be motivated to read the BOTDs. @Mrlefty0706

Finally finished this book. It is definitely a work of fiction -although based on the real life problem of the opioid epidemic, and thoroughly accounted legal procedures- because no way in real life justices and DA's would go against a Big Pharma corporation, least of all fine huge amounts of money nor jail the profiteers from people with medical conditions.
It's a corny tale, with an endearing love interest, mouthwatering recipes, and all; somehow bearing similarities to some Grisham books regarding the court procedures and struggling lawyers against the powers that be. In this story, Casey is the would be rainmaker.
I am still flabbergasted by the fact that the root cause of the pill popping crisis is never addressed, the lack of universal healthcare.
Interesting reading., average book.
