"Secret On Cobb Mountain" by Kit DeCanti is a mystery thriller guaranteed to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story revolves around the mysterious death of a young woman, later identified as Heather Williams, who had recently moved to Clearlake from San Jose, California. At the scene, a gun is discovered along with several water bottles, each with broken seals yet containing untouched water. Adding to the enigma, unusually large footprints are found near the body. Deputy Ron Simmons, captivated by these overlooked clues, delves deeper into the investigation, uncovering more questions than answers.

Complicating matters, attempts are made to halt Ron's investigation by the High Sheriff, prompted by Dr. Fleming, Heather's treating physician. This interference raises even more questions: Who was Heather Williams? Was her death a suicide or a murder? Why are the High Sheriff and Dr. Fleming trying to obstruct Ron's efforts? To uncover the truth, readers will need to dive into this gripping tale.

DeCanti crafts a compelling plot that held my attention until the very end. Each step of Ron's investigation unveils new mysteries, maintaining suspense throughout the book. The characters are well-developed, adding depth to the narrative. I particularly enjoyed the character of Ron, a young and enthusiastic rookie determined to find evidence and solve the case. His bravery and romantic nature, especially his instant infatuation with the girl with blue eyes, add a charming dimension to the story. Ron's empathy for Heather's plight is also touching and well-portrayed.

However, the book is marred by numerous typos and errors, indicating a need for professional editing. Despite these issues, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and commend the author for creating such a mysterious and engaging plot.

I rate "Secret On Cobb Mountain" 4 out of 5 stars, deducting one star due to the editing issues. I found nothing else to criticize in the book. It is an enthralling read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ya know, after reading this review of "Secret On Cobb Mountain" by Kit DeCanti, I gotta say, it sounds like a dang good read. This mystery thriller seems to have all the elements to keep ya hooked, with a mysterious death, overlooked clues, and some shady characters tryin' to block the investigation. I reckon the plot sounds really suspenseful, and the characters, like Deputy Ron Simmons, seem well-developed and relatable. Though there were some typos and errors, which is a bummer, overall it seems like an enthralling book. I'd give it a solid 4 outta 5 stars. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy and dive into the mystery! Touching moments, brought tears to my eyes.
