I'm a huge fan of thriller books, which led me to this book. I enjoy the thrills and twisted paths they tend to tread. However, the standard I hold them to is high. I expect a lot from authors who try to push the bar and keep you on the edge of your seat. I can say with confidence that this book did just that. Before getting into the bulk of my review, I’d like to provide my rating, which is 5 out of 5 stars.

The book follows the story of Sarah through her adolescent years and into adulthood. Sarah's penchant for the dark and sinister leads her to a marriage with a young man she met at summer camp in her youth. Everything seems normal for the quiet happy couple until people start disappearing from their quaint town. What follows, is a ghastly “whodunit”, with a shocking plot twist.

This was one of my favourite books of the year by far. The writing was stellar, it remained engaging and gripping throughout. I found myself flipping pages like a madwoman trying to figure out what, exactly, was going on in this town. Though the characters are, without a doubt, morally flawed, you couldn’t help but be gripped by their story. The author's ability to showcase the character's motivations was incredibly well done, and while you may disagree with it, you can understand the perspective, even against your better judgment. Not only does it give you the tingles, but it even has you questioning your own dark side, which in my opinion, makes for a superb thriller.

It’s hard for me to give a thriller/horror a full score. There are so many elements that need to be done right but in my personal opinion, everything in this book was done perfectly. The setting, characters, writing, flow, all of it was excellent, which is why I gave the score I did. I’ve been trying to think of something, anything, I didn’t enjoy, and I honestly can’t think of a single thing.

I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you up at night and totally enthralled. A truly well-done book.

This book seems to be professionally edited, as I came upon no errors.

"Serial Marriage" by Lakeshia Keys Harley is an engaging read that explores the complexities of relationships and personal growth. Harley's writing is both heartfelt and honest, drawing readers into the intricate dynamics of marriage and commitment. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the plot unfolds with a mix of drama and introspection. While the pacing can be uneven at times, the overall narrative remains compelling, making it a worthwhile read for those interested in contemporary romance and the challenges of maintaining long-term relationships.
