Sam Bennett a Vietnam veteran, struggles with PTSD after receiving an honorable discharge from the US Army. He cannot get over the horrifying experiences that haunt him after Vietnam, ranging from the deaths of his fellow soldiers and friends. He wasn't the same man when he returned home; he was a broken man with many demons he didn't know how to fight. The nightmares and emotional distance from friends and family became a thing of concern to everyone who knew him. Sam knows he can't continue in this mental state, as he has become a worry to his folks. And with the help of his family, he decided to seek help. But when it seemed like Sam was trying to get his life back, another event turned his life and the town of Chambersville upside down.

Kill Em All by Sid Mickle is an enthralling story that depicts the lives of soldiers who fought during the Vietnam War and the aftereffects of the war in their lives as depicted in the life of Sam Bennett. The story was set in the 1960s, and the author brought this period to life. The book explores the corruption and vices in this period where drugs and ammunition are heavily smuggled and sold in the black market. This corrupt activity is led by the Big Cartel Boys, who smuggle heroin and bribe those in higher offices for their cooperation. And this led to individuals being victimized and bullied, especially among the people of Chambersville. There was no one to come to their aid, as the police, judge, and attorney who were supposed to protect the people weren't there for them but rather were involved in corrupt practices. Through this compelling story, the author did a great job of portraying significant themes.

What I find endearing in this book is the genuine love between Sam and Cindy. I loved how Cindy supported Sam in his moment of despair. Love wasn't the only thing that kept them going; mutual trust, communication, and understanding built their relationship and made it thrive against every challenge they faced. I also loved the camaraderie shared between Sam, the sheriff, and his group with Sam's fellow Vietnam veterans. Their effort and determination in trying to wipe out the corruption in Chambersville were admirable. They are what I call true heroes, and their sacrifices evoked a whirlwind of emotions in me. The author did a wonderful job in building the story plot, and it made me enjoy each page I turned.

I didn't find anything negative about the book. This was an enjoyable story that left me deep in thought. The book is professionally edited. I found just a few errors in it. I rate the book five out of five stars because it's a fascinating story that will teach readers about friendship, love, and the bravery to fight for what is right. I recommend this book to lovers of crime stories. Fans of this genre should look forward to the action in the book, as it will keep them on the edge of their seats.
