Review of James The Accountant
In James The Accountant by Tyson Freeburg, Jimmy plans to celebrate with his wife, Tiffany, after closing on the largest deal in his firm’s history. In a twist of events, their date is cut short when two gangsters kidnap them. The gangsters identify Jimmy as “James the accountant”, claiming that their boss wants to have a word with him, but Jimmy insists that he is not the accountant they are looking for. Unfortunately, they do not believe him, and it seems like they will make “James” talk in one way or another. Jimmy’s sixth sense tells him that he and his wife will not come out of this predicament alive. Why are Jimmy and Tiffany kidnapped? What do the gangsters want with “James the accountant”? Can Jimmy talk his way out of this?
James The Accountant knows how to generate tension. Like Jimmy and Tiffany, the reader has no idea who those gangsters are and what they want from them. What can they possibly get from two hapless civilians? The book then reveals the gangsters' plot, the kind of people they work with, and the lows they stoop to, adding to the sense of urgency. In addition, the book enriches its suspenseful plot with compelling characters. Jimmy's intuition, Tiffany's fiery personality, and Wayne's conscience shine as bright as the stars of the night sky. These traits are not just there for following well-worn tropes. They translate into decisions with considerable bearing on the plot and their ultimate fates. I want to add more details about James The Accountant because I love the book so much, but I cannot do it without mentioning spoilers.
To sum up, I do not have anything negative to say about this book. If you are interested in stories that feature interrogations, organised crime, feuds, and gun fights, James The Accountant will be worth your time. If you love action movies, you are in for a treat. Besides, I only found two spelling errors while reading, so the editing is great. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Why was Jimmy identified as James the accountant? What's behind his and his wife's kidnapping? The story that gets developed seems engaging and makes me curious. Thank you for your great review!
