"Hate Crime" by Richard B. Standridge follows Detective Steven Ryan investigating the attack on a Chinese woman. This case leads to other racial motivated Hate crimes targeting Chinese woman. In this crime thriller he has to figure out who, why, and how to catch the culprit. The reader is on the case with him and sure to be a great BOTD.

Thanks for this detailed review. I appreciate how the book deals with real issues like racism and hate crimes during the pandemic while still delivering a solid crime story. It's good to know that the plot is unpredictable and that the main character, Steven Ryan, is well developed. It's a shame about the editing issues, but a 4-star rating still shows the book has strong points. Definitely sounds like a powerful and relevant read.

I always thought that society is supposed to unite in the face of tragedy, but during the COVID-19 pandemic we had more than enough evidence to the contrary. Hate crimes have only been amplified, and I really am not interested in the story, which will cause further disappointment in humans.

During the pandemic, I also heard that COVID originated from China, which made me feel some way towards China. However, I didn't expect assaults on Chinese people in such an organised way. I like how this book tells this. Congratulations on the book of the day.

'Official Review: Hate Crime' by Richard B. Standridge provides a refreshing glimpse of the action thriller. It sketches out the protagonist, detective Steven Ryan's character. The crime novel is based on some of the attacks that Chinese people suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. The criminal aspect of the book seems realistic. The book explores topics such as racism, prejudice, and hatred. It was great to learn that the level of suspense in the book is great!

Based on the popular belief that the pandemic was started in China, I can understand how a misguided person might perpetuate violence on Chinese people. This book sounds like it shows how this is not right and justice is not served by vigilantes.

Based on your review, this fiction thriller will be a good read, although it needs another round of editing. Hate crime targeted to a specific race or community has been a worldwide issue since forever. The author relates this topic to the global pandemic we experienced back in 2020. I'm eager to know who the perpetrator is and the motive behind their action.

This book will keep you engaged until the very end. With an incredible plot twist, the perpetrator of numerous crimes is revealed, as the detective behind several cases involving Chinese women follows the trail of this serial killer. A very good proposal for today's #BOTD.

Richard B. Standridge's crime thriller, Contemporary Thriller About the Evil of Racially Motivated Hate Crime in the Midst of a Global Pandemic, is based on some of the attacks that Chinese people experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being fiction, this book challenges readers to consider their own responses to some of the major topics and thoughts it presents.

I just started reading this novel; it is situated during COVID-19 and as it's title suggests, it is related to hate crimes, more specific against chinese; it is curious thought, in San Francisco and usually all west coast there is a large of chinese population, I know it is a novel but I couldn't help to keep making comparisons with what actually happened during covid. The way all data is presented at the beginning of the book takes you back in time to 2019 and makes you think about how irrational we behave as society, and as the book continuous you have that feeling of powerless when an intruder gets in Yee's (a chinese woman) condominium to threaten her and the books starts making sense when she instead of not telling anyone, seeks help.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I’m especially drawn to how the book doesn’t preach, but instead allows readers to reflect on the pain caused by racism through the unfolding mystery. Your comment about the short chapters and vivid writing makes me believe this is both an emotionally powerful and engaging read. Detective Ryan’s development and the unpredictable plot sound like strong points that would keep me hooked. Despite the minor editing flaws, it sounds like a very important and timely book.

Racism is a bane to today's global culture and post covid, that has focussed and increased against people of certain countries. The author did an excellent work by focussing on the problem, the pain and emotional trauma it leaves behind. I would like to read the book. Thank you for an honest review!

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. This book is about crimes against Asians during COVID-19. I did not know anything about this. There are always evil people who hate other races. Terrible.
