Review of Bless Your Heart
In Mumbai, India, two surgeons were operating on a little girl. They worked at the Little Flowers Clinic, where they attempted to help children born with deformities. All of a sudden, there was an explosion, and everything was in disarray. Rani finally woke up after the explosion, but couldn’t really move. The smell from electrical wires and equipment burning was overpowering. She called out to the other surgeon, Jeannie, who was also her best friend. There was no response. Rani knew that they had to get out of there quickly, as the air was toxic and fires were breaking out all over. She crawled around as best she could, looking for Jeannie. Finally, she spotted her leaning against a wall, but her neck was horribly twisted, and Rani knew that Jeannie was dead. Still, she had to go over and double-check on her friend. There was no pulse, and as she hugged her friend goodbye, she saw the necklace Jeannie always wore. Since Rani was in an arranged marriage to a man much older than her, she thought that this was her chance to escape. She took off Jeannie’s necklace and placed it around her own neck. From that moment on, she became Jeannie Johal.
There is a research study going on in Greenville, North Carolina, where they are taking a group of obese people and injecting some with a semaglutide and some with a placebo. Semaglutide is a popular weight-loss medication currently available on the market, including Ozempic and Wegovy. The data on the research project did not add up. They needed to fix it and fast, as they would lose their grant money. Two other friends, Dr. Dunn and Dr. Bach, were talking on the phone. Dr. Dunn was the head of the semaglutide study. She asked Dr. Bach if she knew of an epidemiologist who could help with the project. Dr. Bach had the perfect candidate, Jeannie Johal. She sent Jeannie to North Carolina to assist Dr. Dunn and correct the data issues.
On the plane ride over to the United States, things start to go awry, and this was just the beginning. Pick up a copy of the book to find out what happens to Jeannie Johal while she is in America.
Bless Your Heart: A Jeannie Johal Thriller is a fictional crime thriller. People start to fall like flies, and they have to find out who is murdering these people. The book is exciting and suspenseful. The story keeps you wanting not to put the book down and to keep turning the pages. The author, Susann Camus, did an excellent job of keeping you guessing but then bringing it all together in the end. There was nothing that I disliked about the book, and it was extremely well-edited, as I did not find any errors. The characters were well-developed, and the plot was equally well-crafted.
I only have one choice, and that is to give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Readers who love crime thrillers will love this one. It is a book that I feel will be enjoyable for almost any reader.

I really love the fact that the setting is in India. I always read books located in popular countries like the UK and USA, but this new setting for me was a breath of fresh air.Spoorthy S wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025, 01:46 Wow, an Indian story. The review seems interesting and the plot is gripping. I'll add it to my TBr so I can read later. Thanks for the review!

Yes, indeed. I'd really love to read this book. I mean, I've heard of two people switching up identies. Talk about three? That's quite an intriguing plot.Kibet Hillary wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025, 12:36 I am still wondering Jeannie Johal and Rani somehow looked alike or how the whole issue with switching identities would work. My curiosity is also piqued to know what would have happened on the plane. Thanks for the review, @Jeannie Johal.

I totally agree with your take on this book. It's really sch an interesting plot line. Maybe adding it to my TBR would do justice to an amazing plot as this work!Neto Onuoha wrote: ↑08 Jul 2025, 05:51 Such an interesting story line. Your review was top notch and had everything to make me want to read this book. I’ll certainly be checking this book out.
