While the Jury Waits by Dr. Tony Vercillo, is a suspenseful legal thriller. The character Giuseppe "Gio" Rossi, a renowned and charismatic lawyer, finds himself in Ravenbrook searching for the truth of a murder to clear the name of the person he loves.

The story that follows is full of suspense and drama lurking at every corner. Gio Rossi, the main character, is on the search for the true murderer of a wealthy businessman, Charles Blackwood. This is to clear Nicoletta Bianchi's name, who seemingly is framed for the murder.

The legal aspects of the book felt real and were akin to watching the television series "Law & Order." I found the author's writing style well-paced and easy to read. Even the courtroom law terms were easy to understand and not overly complicated. I really enjoyed that the author kept me guessing at who the murderer was. The suspense of finding the truth and the dangers they encountered left me at the edge of my seat. Especially when they were in the cabin looking for clues in Chapter 12. The danger lurking in the darkness and the suspense of needing to get information quickly had me anxious about what was going to happen next.

The relationship between Gio & Nicoletta felt real but is not the main focus of the story. I would have liked to see more on the relationship between the two. It fell a bit flat for me when they were discussing Gio's past and the conversation ended early when Gio replied that he would tell her one day. It felt like a missed opportunity for emotional depth of the characters.

My favorite character was probably Emily Turner. Emily's character and personality bring spunk and excitement to the story. She is a reporter and has all that reporter personality that makes for exciting dialogue.

Overall, While the Jury Waits focuses more on the search to find the truth in the courtroom and focuses less on the relationship between characters, and for this I deducted a star. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would have liked to see the deeper connection between Gio & Nicoletta within the book. I recommend this book to lovers of crime thrillers that like stories without too much dialogue on love interests and relationships and more on the actual "who is the killer" theme.

The description of the suspenseful legal thriller and Gio Rossi's search for the truth sounds incredibly engaging, like "Law & Order". It's great you enjoyed being kept guessing and the edge-of-your-seat suspense, especially in that cabin scene! Your point about wanting more emotional depth in relationships is well-noted. Thanks for the awesome review.

I really love a book that pays close attention to the characters growth. I really detest bland characters.

It is always good to read a book where you are kept guessing the identity of a character, such as a murderer. The fact that the legal drama is also thrilling makes this really exciting. I hope that Giuseppe succeeded without paying a very heavy cost. Thanks for the review, @Stephanie Gail Stephen.

The suspense seems to be well executed, judging by your beautiful review. Please keep up the good work. I will be on the lookout for this book.

Sounds like While the Jury Waits is a solid legal thriller! If you're into that "Law & Order" vibe with lots of courtroom drama and suspense, this one sounds right up your alley. It's cool that the mystery keeps you guessing, and the reviewer loved that intense scene in the cabin! Too bad the romance wasn't a bigger focus, but if you're all about the "who did it" and less about the love story, this one sounds perfect.
