If you want to read a story that will keep you invested until the end, then Padanaram Village by Jack Burbank is the book to read. Poor Richard Lewis. His wife left him for the real estate agent and took everything. Debbie got the house, which Rich still had to pay the mortgage on, and all the money in their bank accounts. Although Rich had a decent job as an interior designer and a thriving business, he was flat broke. He only had his car and his clothes. He owed everyone money. The mortgage wasn’t paid for a few months, his car payment wasn’t made, and he owed back taxes, among other things. Yet, Debbie and her lawyer continued to take him to court for more money. The problem is that he had no money. He had to wait until a couple of projects were finished and the clients paid him.

The book explores the meaning of friendship and the importance of standing by someone, regardless of the circumstances. It’s also about the fact that the good guy doesn’t always finish last. Keep hoping, and soon, things will turn around in your favor.

How does Rich survive? How does he find himself involved with the mob? Does he ever find love again? Who would be with him with no money and deeply in debt? Read Padanaram Village to find out the answers to all of these questions.

I loved this book! The storyline kept me interested as I wanted to know what predicament Rich would find himself in next. The author’s writing was excellent and flowed throughout the pages. I didn't dislike anything about the book. The author proved that you can write a book without sex and profanity. The characters were well-developed, and you rooted for the main character as he was a very likable person. I did find some errors, but they did not take away from my reading enjoyment. The only conclusion I can draw is to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is recommended for anyone who enjoys a feel-good story and appreciates a book without the profanity prevalent in today’s society. Anyone who likes to root for the good guys and see that the justice system does work sometimes. You won’t be disappointed in this book.

It appears that Rich is facing a lot, and, indeed, one of the questions in my mind is how he survives. I am glad that one of the lessons in the book is the need to keep on hoping regardless of what life throws at one. Thanks for the review, @Shirley Ann Riddern Labzentis.

Based on your review this sounds like a great book! I love that the author wrote the book from a man's point of view when a marriage breaks down, showing how it could affect him as well. There are plenty of books out there where women are getting "wronged" in the divorce. I love that the book is based on friendship and people sticking by your side during hard times, because lets face it. Everyone needs a friend!
