Hacker: The Outlaw Chronicles by Ted Dekker

Post by needtoread »

What if the reality you know is only a portion of what is truly out there? What if you can connect to another reality and alter your whole world? These are the questions Nyah faces and must answer as she searches for help for a badly injured family member.

Nyah is just your average teenager; well, except for the fact that she is one of the greatest computer hackers the world has ever seen. She spends her time hacking into professional businesses in order to convince them that they need to hire her to install a foolproof firewall and protect them from future hacking endeavors. When the need for a large amount of money arises, Nyah turns to her hacking skills to secure what could be the biggest job of her career. But something goes terribly wrong with the hack, and now Nyah must reconnect with an old friend to save herself and those she loves.

Nyah's friend Austin has his own problem and has secluded himself away from everyone in an attempt to find a solution. When Nyah finds Austin, he convinces her that the greatest hack ever could be the solution to both their problems. He has hacked into a different reality that he is sure hold the key to both their troubles. Will this new reality be the solution they are hoping for, or will Nyah and Austin lose their lives tampering with something neither of them are prepared for?

Hacker is a fast-paced, mind-blowing story of second chances and true awakening. The characters are well developed and make you feel as if you have known them for a while. The story keeps a pace that leaves you wanting to know more, yet allows you some time to soak in the overwhelming concepts that the characters encounter. As the story progresses, it leaves the reader pondering the truths behind Dekker's words and leaves the question of this new reality on the reader's mind long after the book is finished.

I really enjoyed this book and believe that other readers will also. If you enjoy thinking outside the box and you want a thrilling ride, try Ted Dekker's Hacker; you won't be disappointed.
