Dragon's Triangle Review

Post by Bookworm_Letty »

I like to try to read different types of books. This could have been a great book; I think the basic story that the author was attempting to share with us would have been good. However, I found it difficult to get into the book in the beginning and hard to become entwined with the storyline and characters. It didn’t grab the reader’s attention; you had to force yourself to read more to give it a chance. It seemed a bit disjointed and hard to follow. It seemed that the author tried too hard to get the details in that you began to lose interest and it was a bit complicated to envision where the story was going. The characters were hard to connect with which made it almost impossible to get drawn into the plot. I did complete the book because I felt that there was a possibility that it could be a great book. It needed to be less complicated and have smoother transitions from going back to the past and then the future. I feel if the author continues to gain more experience, she could ultimately be a very good writer. I think she has a good idea by sharing her love of the sea with readers but she needs a bit more experience and a bit of tutoring from authors that have been around drawing in readers for years.
