The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe

Post by weoo »

The Tell-Tale Heart is truly an amazing short story written by the great Edgar Allan Poe. It talks about a man who desperately wanted to kill his neighbor, claiming that his eye was evil. It is very very well written! I recommend that everyone should read it. In my opinion, it is one of the best short stories I've read! It is thrilling and suspenseful!

I think the Tell-Tale Heart is everyone's go to Poe story.. but I've always felt The Black Cat or even The Cask of Amontillado was a better story.

The Cask of Amontillado is nothing compared to The Tell-Tale Heart. I haven't read The Black Cat, but I plan to read it someday.

The Tell Tale Heart is great and let's us see the workings of a deranged mind. We all have heard our little voice talking to us, usually to tell us not to do something. This puts on paper what processes we go through.

When I was younger I use to get scared by this story. It is truly a macabre work of art and its easy to get creeper out by the characters insaine mental state at the hand of his guilty conscience.

I love Edgar Allen Poe! The Tell-Tale Heart however freaked me out. I know most of his works are dark and creepy like it, but for some reason this one just really gave me the chills. It is excellently written though. Very descriptive.

All Edgar Allan Poe are brilliant. My favourite is The Black Cat. Great to read just before you go to bed!
When it comes to great horror, he remains unsurpassed
